Plot:
Based in real theatrical history, Me and Orson Welles is a romantic coming-of-age story about a teenage actor who lucks into a role in “Julius Ceasar” as its being re-imagined by a brilliant, impetuous young director named Orson Welles at his newly-founded Mercury Theater in NYC, 1937.
The roller coaster week leading up to opening night has the charismatic-but-sometimes-cruel Welles staking his career on this risky production while Richard mixes with everyone from starlets to stagehands in behind-the-scenes adventures bound to change him.

My Review:
Recently I rented this movie from Netflix. I have wanted to watch this since before it’s release for a number of reasons. One of them being Claire Danes was cast in the film. Mainly my need to see it was the period of time the piece was filmed about and the backbone to the whole store, Orson Welles‘ theater production & creation of the Mercury theater. I think the film was really fabulous & I admit that I cried a bit at the end. The acting was splendid, Christian Kane was pretty rock solid as Orson – I almost forgot he was acting. It was unfortunate that this film was not given it’s chance to showcase in the theaters. – Ashley
