Filming in Austin/Smithville Areas – Oct 06 2008

Claire Danes, Julia Ormond, David Strathairn and Catherine O’Hara are coming to the Austin and Smithville areas to shoot HBO’s still untitled biopic about Temple Grandin, a leading speaker and expert on autism, as well as one of the top scientists in humane livestock handling.
Danes will play Grandin and Ormond will play her mother, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Strathairn will play Grandin’s science teacher, and O’Hara will play her aunt.
Filming starts later this month.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Julia Ormond, David Strathairn and Catherine O’Hara have joined the cast of a feature film about Temple Grandin, author of “Animals in Translation: Using the Mysteries of Autism to Decode Animal Behavior.”
Claire Danes stars as Grandin, one of the leading speakers on autism, whose firsthand experience with the disorder led to her becoming an advocate for new treatments as well as a top expert in the field of humane livestock handling.
Ormond is set to play Grandin’s mother, and Strathairn takes the role of her university science teacher. O’Hara will play her aunt.
Merritt Johnson and Christopher Monger wrote the screenplay. Mick Jackson is directing the HBO project.
Ormond next appears in Steven Soderbergh’s “Guerrilla,” with Benicio Del Toro, and David Fincher’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Strathairn has finished filming the horror thriller “The Uninvited,” with Elizabeth Banks. O’Hara next will be heard doing voice work in “Where the Wild Things Are.”

The lovely Claire Danes (star of Romeo and Juliet and Stardust) has signed up to model Gucci’s new jewellery collection.
Claire replaces Drew Barrymore as the face of Gucci fine jewellery. Her ad campaign – out now – was shot by taletnted photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
Creative Director Frida Giannini said Calire is ” very natural, fresh, and has a carefree attitude which can also be seen in the roles she has chosen.”?
